Finland-based Containerships has appointed leading European logistics operator P&O Ferrymasters as its sales and booking agent for Italian business transiting via the port of Rotterdam.

       The appointment will see Containerships link northern Italy via Rotterdam with Helsinki, St Petersburg and the Baltic states through the container rail shuttles P&O Ferrymasters are using between Milan, Novara, Rome and Rotterdam.

       Wim Blomme, P&O Ferrymasters' director of its intermodal division, said: "This agency agreement widens the scope of services and routes we are able to offer our Italian customers."
