DHL Global Forwarding and American Airlines Cargo have begun offering joint training to pharmaceutical industry shippers to prepare them for new air cargo screening rules being introduced in the US.

        The two said the planned August implementation of 100% piece-level screening of cargo carried on passenger aircraft could cause major delays of shipments unless all parties were well prepared.

         The sensitive nature of some pharmaceutical industry products means they are particularly vulnerable to delay or intrusive inspection regimes.
