OOCL has announced rate increases and peak season surcharges on its Europe-Australia and New Zealand services.

From Monday, the line will increase rates by US$100 per teu on services from northern European, Mediterranean and Black Sea ports to Australia and by $200 on services to New Zealand.

From the same date, it will also introduce a peak season surcharge of $150 per 20ft container and $200 per 40ft container from northern European ports to Australia and New Zealand because of "seasonal high volumes of cargo movements".
