Hapag-Lloyd has announced a series of rate increases on its services between Latin America and Europe and Africa from 1 April.

The German carrier will increase rates by �250 (US338) per teu on services from northern Europe to the South American west coast, the Caribbean and the South American east coast.

In the opposite direction, it will increase rates by $250 per teu on services from the South American east coast to northern Europe.

On services from the Mediterranean and Africa to South American and Caribbean ports, rates will go up by �250 per teu, and in the opposite direction, rates will go up $250 per teu.
