Hamburg S��d has decided to scrap its Mediterranean-Caribbean service and replace it with a slot-charter agreement on Hapag-Lloyd's MGX service.

Hamburg S��d said the move would increase frequency and maintain its coverage of ports in the Mediterranean, Gulf coast of Mexico and Atlantic/Gulf coast of the US.

The Mediterranean Mexican Gulf Express service will be operated with six ships of 3,200teu, with a port rotation of Cagliari, Livorno, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Port Everglades, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, New Orleans and Cagliari.
