Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Holdings, a port service provider based in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, recorded cargo throughput of 5.91 million tonnes in May, a year-on-year growth of 37.5 percent, China Industrial Daily News reported.
The company's container throughput for the month reached 555,000 TEUs, while its bulk cargo throughput reached 947,000 tonnes, a year-on-year growth of 39.8 percent and 64.3 percent respectively. Container throughput in the company's core asset, Chiwan Wharf, part of Shenzhen Port, accounted for 383,000 TEUs.
