Greece and China are due to sign a memorandum of understanding this week to cement co-operation between the two countries in the maritime sector, Dow Jones reported.

The agreement will also be accompanied by a series of separate contracts between Chinese and Greek shipowners for the construction of some 15 new dry bulk vessels in China.

There will also be a separate deal for Chinese investment in a major commercial property in the port of Athens.
